This has to be one of the coolest uses for a 3D printer that I've seen. Theo Jansen is a Dutch artist who is known for creating gigantic creatures out of PVC that can walk on their own. He's taken the same structures, shrunk them down, and 3D printed them to create the 3D Printed Strandbeests ($56-$113). There are four of these creatures available in various sizes which your can purchase from Shapeways. There are also two propeller kits available, and when attached they allow your Strandbeest to move with a little air from your mouth, fan, or blower. The guys from the Swiss Britalmoto, Ivo and Fritz Tschumi, have created an amazing new take on the Triton. Instagram ($FREE) has just add video to their extremely popular photo sharing app. Inside the app you will find a new movie camera icon. When you tap it you'll enter video mode which will allow you to take up to 15 seconds of video. In addition to the new video functionality you'll find thirteen new filters built just for video. You'll also be able to choose your favorite scene from your video as the cover image. Instagram 4.0 is available on Google Play and Apple's App Store.
