The Nike Air Footscape Desert Chukka QS ($219) is Nike's latest take on their classic woven chukka. This version has an all black woven upper that sits on an all white midsole. The Adidas ZX 500 Og Weave ($138) is part of the Adidas SS14 lineup and will be dropping on March 1st. The new shoes can only be described as smooth. They feature the classic ZX 500 silhouette, with a mesh and suede upper, in tan & white with touches of collegiate red on the heel and tongue. The laces, Adidas stripes, and the front of the outsole are all in a matching shade.
If you're looking to get a taste of the track for a reasonable price take a look at the Caterham Seven 160 ($24,250-$29,100). The newest Caterham can be purchased as a kit or fully built. In order to reach the low price point the 160 had to shed a little power. The Seven 160 is powered by an 80-hp 660cc Suzuki three cylinder turbo engine which reaches 79 foot pounds of torque at 3,400 rpm. It has a five-speed transmission, can reach 60 mph in about 6.5 seconds and has a max speed of 100-mph. Obviously performance isn't the 160's high point, but it does get marks for handling. It has a live-axle rear suspension used in early Seven models and weighs a slim 1,080 pounds so the horses per ton are relatively high. The 160 is something unique for the entry level market. Caterham will begin production in January 2014. (more…)
The Equalizer was a TV series that ran from 1985-1989. It starred Edward Woodward, who played Robert McCall, a retired intelligence agent who becomes a private detective who uses his contacts to help a host of characters each week. In the new Equalizer ($TBA) Denzel Washington plays McCall a former black ops commando who faked his death to go off the grid. He comes out of hiding to help Teri (Chloe Grace Moretz) take on some ultra violent Russian gangsters. Based on the trailer this version looks pretty badass. This looks like it might be a good vehicle for Denzel, similar to what the Bourne Identity did for Matt Daemon.http://youtu.be/0B5DoUaxqRs
