I love smaller homes. But this Perfect 540 Square Foot Oregon Home ($NFS) uses every inch of its minimal footprint better than most smaller homes out there. The home was originally built in the 1940s as a shipyard house for Vanport Village. When the village flooded the house was moved down river to Sauvie Island. It was then purchased by the current owners in 2008. Jessica Helgerson Interior Design then got their hands on it and made it the little gem it is today. They replaced the worn out roof with a green roof that was planted with moss and ferns. Then they remodeled the main room to house the kitchen, dining room and living room. The sofas double as twin guest beds and drawers under the sofas hold the kids toys. The home has two rooms; the parents loft and the kids room which have bunk beds and a full bed for company. This home represents a perfect use of a small amount of space.
