If you've been shopping around for that perfect classic truck then you're wait might be over. There is currently a 1965 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 ($TBA) up for auction. The seller says the truck has spent most of its time in the dry, low humidity part of Arizona making it completely rust free. It just completed a six-month off frame restoration. The original F1 engine has bee replaced with an F2 with 20,000 original miles and the 3 speed transmission replaced with a 4 speed. Additional updates include power steering and a new paint job. The really cool thing about this FJ45 is it's completely convertible. The top and doors can be removed and the windshield folded flat. There are only a couple of days left on the auction and the highest bid is currently sitting at $22,600.
The Villa Vals By Christian Muller Architects and SeARCH ($TBA) is a villa in the Valsertal valley of Switzerland. Embedded into the side of a hill, construction of the villa left the surrounding nature untouched. It was built from quartzite recovered from the site and nearby thermal baths. Access to the residence is provided through a nearby wooden barn and a connecting underground tunnel. The most amazing thing about this home is the view of the mountain valley perfectly framed when looking out of the the circular cut made in the mountainside.
KTM is known for its motorcycles, but KTM's X-Bow GT ($94,000) is getting the company noticed for its supercars. Now some say the X-Bow looks like a glorified go-kart, so it might not be your cup of tea. Based off of KTM's X-Bow R, it adds a frameless windshiled and partially framed side windows so you can forego the need for a helmet. The 1900 pound, mid-engine, two-seater uses the Audi 2.0 liter turbocharged, intercooled engine for its power plant. The engine produces 281 horsepower, and 309 foot pounds of torque at 3200 rpm. With a top speed of 144 mph, and a 0-62 mph split of 4.1 seconds, it's safe to say that this guy will blow the doors off of any go-kart.
Practically every kid wishes that their favorite toy would come to life and John Bennett is the lucky one. Written and directed by Seth McFarlane and starring Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and McFarlane himself, we see John as an adult still accompanied by Ted ($12), the bear who came to life, and witness the bond that exists between the two. There is trouble, however, in the shape of John's girlfriend Lori who is unhappy to have Ted in the equation. This results in a dilemma many men will empathize with; will he choose Lori or his lifelong friend? A hysterically funny movie that also tugs at the heartstrings, Ted is a sure fire winner.
I usually like my bikes in the style of Harley's or nicely restored cafe racers, but sometimes you have to acknowledge when someone thinks out of the box and creates a work of art. The BMW Landspeeder by Revival Cycles ($CALL) is just that, a work of art. The bike, from the Austin, Tx based team, came about after a client gave them a blank check to build the bike of their dreams. This particular build was inspired Ernst Henne's Landspeeder, which broke multiple records during his career. Even though the Landspeeder is built for the showroom and isn't street legal, it is still built to Revival's unwavering standards.Starting off with a BMW R37, they lengthened the wheel based, reduced the engine's height, added a magneto ignition system, added custom stainless steel hardware and finished it off with some nice leather. If you want to check out the Revival Landspeeder in person, it will be showing at the Handbuilt Motorcycle Show, in Austin, Texas in April.
If you're looking for a great gag gift, then you have to pick up Book Of Things Better Than Boobs ($5). Think about for a second, what could be better than boobs? Not much. So that's why this book is filled with 142 blank pages. Nothing nada, zilch. And if you can find 142 things better than boobs, go ahead and fill in the pages, but I doubt you'll get a whole lot of people agreeing with you.
