Farewell dude food, you are past your sell by date. Most food loving men own a roasting pan and a pretty respectable spice rack. They are also, however, still searching for that one elusive book that contains not only the real food they love eating but shows them how to cook it too. Step forward Eat Like A Man ($20). Created by Ryan D'Agostino, the food editor of Esquire, this book challenges the male mentality of food with a collection of 75 awesome recipes and food news designed for the man who likes to eat, cook and also read about amazing food.
We're about to do a write-up on a $100,000 bike, but first we want to show you something for 1/10th the cost that is an absolute work of art. Spin Cycle Industries was started by two friends Eric and Josh. Together they build some very beautiful bikes. The bikes they sell are all custom so when this bike sells it's gone for good. The bike pictured is a customized 1982 Yamaha Virago XV 750 ($13,000). It had about 7,000 miles on it and they added about 800 more during the build. The bike has so many upgrades it would be impossible for me to list them all. Check out their blog for all the details and the full description.
The OTW X Vans Alomar NA Series Sneaker ($100) is a classic street wear skate boot from Vans OTW collection. The boots feature premium pull-up leather uppers, matching corded laces, canvas lining, and a cushioned EVA footbed. If you're going to be wearing these guys daily, my one suggestion would be to get a cushioned sole insert. Some comments indicate the Alomar's have limited arch support.
The Nike Roshe Run Sneakerboots Premium Leather Pack ($120) take the look of a great winter boot and combines it with the versatility of the Nike Roshe Run Sneaker. This version of the sneakerboot utilizes premium leather throughout and a quilt-stitched toebox and tongue. It also includes a padded collar, and rope laces that go through boot-like metal eyelets. These boots come in black and mercury grey versions. Check out additional pics after the break.(more…)
Make no mistake The Book Of Bastards ($14) does not overlook Benedict Arnold, America's first traitor, but he is only one of the 101 bastards in this one of a kind volume dedicated to the Washington bad guys. He is in good company too when you look at some of the gross misconduct within this scarily funny but historically correct book. This is a page turning potboiler of the highest degree as it reveals those dirty little secrets none of us learned about in history class. From illicit trysts to illegitimate children ( who knew Grover Cleveland had it in him) the dirt is well and truly dished here and what a cracking read it is.
MotoKouture is a Belgium motorcycle customizer, that makes some beautiful machines. Their latest build is their third Triumph, which they call the MK20 MTKN Motorcycle ($TBA). It was made to take on the trails as well as urban environments that require a nimble ride. They describe the bike as having "Pipes that are loud, tires that scream for dirt, Luggage rack that wants a tent on it and a munition bag that's eager.." Enough said.
