When you're trying to get the best shot every detail matters. The New GoPro HERO3+ Black Edition ($385) is GoPro's most advanced camera yet. The Black Edition is 20% smaller and lighter than its predecessor. Its new Superview video wide angle mode gives you some of the world's most immersive video. And speaking of video, you can shoot resolutions up to 4k up to 30 frames per second and capture photos at 12 megapixels. Combine those with a sharper lens, 4x faster wi-fi and its auto low light mode, you can see why they call this GoPro's best camera yet.
The Reversys Boat ($TBA) wants to be the first boat with a retractable hardtop. The company is currently looking for funding for their concept, but based on the design and mockup that shouldn't be too hard. The whole idea is to have a convertible hardtop just like you've had in the auto industry for decades. The top of the cabin folds back to become a sunbathing deck at the rear of the boat.
I strongly hope The Concept Span Watch from Box Clever ($TBA) eventually hits the market in some iteration. It is an elegant take on the idea of what a smartwatch should be. This tasteful concept uses a screen that spans the center of the watch. It provides the most critical alerts and notification across its curved OLED display. The Span watch was meant to be an extension of your smartphone and not a replacement. The quartz movement operates the jump hour timekeeping, while a jog dial on the bezel operates the watches interface. Again, if this guy ever hit the market I would love to pick one up.
Italian textile company Loro Piana has provided the fabric for a beautifully crafted bomber jacket that is not your run of the mill varsity jacket. The made in the USA Loro Piana Bomber Jacket ($638) is crafted from some of the finest materials available. The wool is so luxurious it almost feels like cashmere. The sleeves are made from 100% sheep leather and the standard snaps you find on varsity jackets have been replaced with buttons. Preorders are being taken now and are expected to ship the end of September.
Motoped just announced a Motoped Survival Bike ($2,000+) just in time for the next zombie attack. If you don't know, motopeds are a cross between a mountain bike and a moped. The engine is a 4-stroke Honda 50cc XR/CRF50. The stock engine is street legal in most states and has a top speed about 30 miles per hour. The cool thing is that because the engine is not above 50cc's with a max of 30mph, it can be ridden on most streets as a motorized bicycle without the need for motorcycle registration & insurance. This allows you to ride and park anywhere a bike can. Now take that base motoped and add a cool paint job, a one-gallon gas container, flashlight, climbing rope, tomahawk, crossbow, a bunch of other cool survival gear and you've got the ultimate survival machine. Stay locked on Motoped's website for updates and release dates.
