Looks like Epson has beat Google to the punch with the release of its own take on Smart Glasses. The Epson Moverio BT-200 ($699) features a dual screen (unlike google's single screen) for 3-D display and augmented reality applications, a prescription lens insert, motion sensors to capture head movement, a front facing camera, and large bright displays. The control unit has a textured touchpad with additional motion sensors, and a mciro SD card slot for extended storage. Epson says the BT-200 will work with most Android apps and is primarily geared towards developers.
A word to the wise; if you are planning a bank robbery don't make the rookie mistake of leaving any evidence behind. Heat ($6) tells the story of a group of robbers who learn this lesson the hard way. Starring Hollywood royalty Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, along with Val Kilmer and written and directed by Michael Mann, the title comes from the heat the group feel when they realize they have left a vital clue behind. This is one of the great crime action dramas that will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish, it is also the first time Al Pacino and Robert De Niro were ever seen on the screen together, and has probably the best shoot-out seen ever shot.
Take the violent sport of boxing, throw Martin Scorcese and Robert De Niro into the mix and you have all the ingredients for one of the best sporting movies ever made. Raging Bull ($6) is the story of Jake LaMotta, and it shows a man that is destructive in the ring and equally as self destructive out of it. The violent mentality that has made him so successful is threatening to destroy him as a person. With great support from Joe Pesci and Cathy Moriarty, this is one of the ultimate guy flicks that you and your buddies will never tire of watching.
There's nothing that I love more than a good sci-fi movie, and they don't come much better than The Fifth Element ($8). Set in a very colorful future, a taxi driver turns out to be the unwitting key figure in tracking down a legendary cosmic weapon to keep Zorg, and evil in general, at bay. Directed by Luc Besson and starring Bruce Willis, Mila Jovovich and Gary Oldman, this is a fun and fantastic ride that is as great to watch today as it was back in 1997.
The Proper X Reebok Dual Pump Runner ($TBA) was originally slated to be released back in 2009. But I guess late is always better than never, because the shoe has finally dropped and is now available through the Long Beach based sneaker boutique. The shoe features a Dark Navy and Olive colorway throughout the nubuck and mesh upper and the 'Proper' logo quietly fitted on the heel. The entire kit sits one a cream midsole for a bit of contrast. The shoes can't be ordered online so you'll have to give the a call to grab a pair. Contact details are on their site.
When you're out on the trail one of the last things you think about are your boot laces. But imagine if they failed on you at the most inopportune time. Rhino Laces ($30) look to take care of that concern, forever. Rhino's were designed by wildland firefighters, and are the only unbreakable boot laces on the planet. They cannot be burned, cut, sawed, chopped, destroyed, or broken. And if they ever are, they will be replaced for free.
