I love living in a period where such small groups can bring products to market that can intrigue and capture the imagination. The guys over at Bitcraze.se are about to start taking pre-orders for their new quadcopter. These little guys are really cool. The Crazyflie is a small quad where the PCB acts as the frame for the control board and the motors. This is an open source project. In order to get this thing flying you will need the Crazyflie quadcopter, and USBRadio dongle, a pc application for controlling the quad and a joystick controller. Xbox or Playstation controllers should work. The Crazyflie weights about 19g and is 90mm from motor to motor. You’ll get about 7 minutes of fly time per charge. Keep an eye on their site for updates.
