What would you do for the person that you love? How far would you go to make them happy? Dog Day Afternoon ($8) is a movie that portrays the extent of one man’s love for the love of his life. Directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Al Pacino, John Cazale, and Penelope Allen, this is the true portrayal of a man who robbed a bank to pay for the operation of his lover and the ensuing hostage crisis. Nothing is ever as simple as it seems and when a simple plan begins to spiral out of control you start to get an uneasy feeling that things may take a turn for the worse. A Dog Day Afternoon is expertly acted by Pacino and may well be one of his best roles.
