http://vimeo.com/62092214Before we start I need to state: The Biting Elbows - 'Bad Motherfucker' Official Video ($FREE) is NSFW, contains scenes of extreme violence and is meant for mature audiences. Now that I got that out of the way it is also one of the coolest videos I've ever seen. It was shot using a GoPro Video Camera and shows what type of creativity can be achieved with first person action cameras. Plus the music is pretty good. Check it out and let me know if you love it as much as I do on our Facebook page.
You never saw Dennis Hopper without his cameras during the 1960s. He had them on film sets, location shoots, at parties, in bars, galleries and diners, when he was walking in political demonstrations and even when he was driving down the freeway. He captured movie stars, pop idols, artists, girlfriends, writers and often complete strangers. What Hopper didn't realize at the time was that we was capturing some of the most fascinating moments of his time through his keen and intuitive eye. Dennis Hopper: Photographs 1961-1967 ($94) is like no other. No book out there captures the essence of the 1960's quite like this one.
Mark your calendar for Wednesday, September 10th. That's the day the new Nike KD7 'Easy Money' Sneakers ($150) are dropping. And since Nike just paid the man $300 mill, I'd say they were aptly named. The Shoes are based on a number of items from Kevin's life. When he was a kid he was fascinated with meteorology and wanted to become a weatherman, so five color ways will be released to pay homage to the weather. The 'Easy Money' release is dedicated to Ben Franklin, but it's not his key on the kite experiment where the shoe derives its colorway, it's the fact Ben's on the hundred dollar bill. The colorway combines green hues and graphics from the bill to create a very cool presentation.Additional features include a silhouette of his home state of Maryland on the outsole, and a forefoot strap the includes the names of his mother Wanda, his grandmother Barbara, His father Wayne, and his brother Tony. And just in time for school, the 'Easy Money' will also be offered in kids sizes. Stop by Nike's site on the 10th to pick up a pair.
If you have a dangerous profession or work in remote places, there is nothing better than having a dual-channel emergency satellite transmitter, that activates with a twist and a pull, strapped to your wrist. The Breitling Emergency II ($17,000+) is the updated version of Breitling's storied watch. It transmits in both 406 MHz, which works with the international Cospas-Sarsat system, and the older 121.5 Mhz, which is useful for making location changes just before visual contact. If your daily activities require frequent flights, or work on ships, mountains, deserts, or ice caps, then you might want to check out the Emergency II.
