The Land Rover Defender is starting to be one of my favorite SUVs. There are a number of company's out there doing some beautifully things with these vehicles. Afzal Kahn Design is one such company. They've taken the iconic Land Rover Defender XS90 2.2 TDci ($70,000) and added racing seats in the front and rear. Each seat is wrapped in black leather and Harris Tweed. Yes, tweed. Machined Aluminum pedals and silver accent stitches on the seats finish off the interior. The exterior toughness of this vehicle is accentuated with red brake calipers and black wheels. This is one beautiful machine.
Nike is celebrating the World Basketball Festival with the release of a new shoe that kinda looks like a basketball. The new Nike Lunar Force 1 "World Basketball Festival" Sneaker ($125) will drop August 14th at Nike retailers. The uppers feature an orange pebbled leather that looks like an actual basketball. You wouldn't think that would look good, but in execution it actually looks pretty cool. The midsole is in white while the outsole is in a cool blue. Can't wait for these to come out.
Packed with both insightful text and gorgeous images, The Story Of Eames Furniture ($130) is a unique book that can only be described as the benchmark reference guide to what is, arguably, the most important and influential brand of furniture of modern times. It reveals in unbelievable detail just how Charles and Ray Eames, alongside with their team of hugely talented designers, worked on creating pieces that still sit atop the bestseller lists. A fabulous book that not only documents how these landmark designs in furniture were created, and the subsequent way their reputation spread, it also tells us how modernism became an established force in offices and homes across the globe.
When bankrupting your 9 year old just isn't enough. Take him out with the soon to be released Game Of Thrones Monopoly Game ($TBA). Based on the iconic TV show, and featuring locations like Castle Black, Winterfell and King's Landing the object of the game is to sell and trade your way in order to sit atop the Iron Throne. The regular old Monopoly pieces will be replaced with a Direwolf, a dragon egg, a three-eyed raven, a White Walker, a crown and of course that awesome Iron Throne. And instead of houses and hotels you'll have keeps and villages. Now actual release date has been announced, but we've included a link to the product page which has an email sign-up form to receive a notification when it's available.

One of my girlfriends in college had a Ford Bronco and I loved that car. Her's was a 90's Eddie Bower Edition and I have very fond memories of it. If Ford ever released the bronco again, I'd be the first in line to grab one. But if you happen to be in the market now, you can always get a Classic Ford Bronco from the guys over at Classic Ford Broncos ($CALL).Based out of Columbus, Ohio, they start with an original, early model Bronco body, and as they say, "give it a 21st century makeover." These aren't your normal restorations. If they find a rust spot in any of their body's, they replace the entire panel. No bondo. Want something special, they can do it for you. So if you're in the market for a comprehensively restored Bronco, these are the guys to go to. via: Bless This Stuff
