Simple and sophisticated is what the 3DR Solo Drone ($1000+) promises. This aerial photography solution is very capable but can be controlled by novices right out of the box. Using GoPro, it’s the first drone in the world to give you complete in-flight control of its action cam and it delivers live-streaming HD video right to your mobile device through its controller. The controller houses one of two 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9-powered computers. The other computer is right in the aircraft. Just when it seems like everything is going digital and all your media files are on an electronic device or in the cloud Qleek brings back physical media in a unique way. Qleek ($249) is a wooden hexagon (Tapp) that makes all of your music, movies, and photographs available and shareable. Tapps can be playlists, YouTube channels, photos, pretty much any digital content. The player has an HDMI, jack, and bluetooth outputs. Sign-up on Qleeks website to get additional product updates. This movie classic is a perfect example of how great storytelling and directing can elevate a creepy story into a real scary movie. What adds to this is the fact that The Silence of the Lambs ($5) deals with crimes and situations that could actually happen. It tells the story of Clarice Starling, and FBI agent who has to try and get inside the mind of a psychotic yet brilliant incarcerated killer in order to catch another who has a penchant for skinning his victims. Directed by John Demme and boasting outstanding performance from Jodie Foster as Starling and Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter, this movie elevated its stars to super stardom and has rightly become a modern classic.
Trying to steal a little thunder from the up coming release of Apple's smartwatch, LG has announced its new luxury smartwatch. Several finishes are available for the case including stainless steel, polished silver and gold. Because the watch uses a standard 22mm strap, you can use pretty much any strap you want, e.g. rubber, nato, or leather. The one downfall of this watch and the Apple offering is their water resistance. The Urbane is stated to have an IP67 dust and water resistance, which mean its OK for spills and rain but isn't meant to be worn while showering or swimming.
