Environment Furniture is an environmentally friendly furniture company that uses materials and processes that have low environmental impact. The furniture it builds and designs has a casual sophistication which fits beautifully with a modern minimalistic design where clutter is eliminated and focus placed on individual pieces. Their Santos Platform Bed ($3200) is just such a piece. Made with reclaimed Brazilian Peroba wood, it sits upon a mahogany base to give you that floating magic carpet feeling. The angled headboard is crafted from ebony-stained mahogany to cap off a beautifully simplistic and rugged piece.
We did a piece last year on the amazing Richard Mille RM027 RAFAEL Nadal ($525,000) and now they're back at it again with the Richard Mille RM 36-01 Sensor Sebastien Loeb ($625,00) named after the French rally and racing driver who is the most successful driver in WRC history. The 36-01 measures 48mm and is 17.5mm thick. It features a tourbillon made from an ultra light titanium alloy, and a G-force sensor that measures up to 6 G's. The pusher on the crown allows you to select three functions including hand setting, winding, and neutral.
Design by Mexican 3D artist Julian Carlos Ramos the Pyramid House ($INFO) is a beautiful take on the world famous Ancient Egyptian pyramids. The triangular glass structure is breath-taking to behold and shines with a glorious light that harks back to the Egyptian sun itself. While it’s not quite the “traditional” pyramid this magnificent work of art is something you really have to take in with your own eyes to appreciate.
I love these shoes and I'm seriously considering picking up a pair when they drop. The Y-3 2014 Fall Hayex Low - Black, Red & Camo ($TBA) feature an all black upper with a minimalistic design and obvious Japanese flair. The upper sits on a classic Yohji Yamamoto midsole with its extended heel, and camo and red accents. Expect these to hit the brands shop in the coming weeks.
When it comes to architecture and interior design, there are two things I love more than anything - Minimalism and Mid-Century Modern. The Merrydown By Mclaren Excell ($NFS) provide both of these in spades. The home was a former Victorian girl's school that was converted to a single story home in the 1950s.By dropping the floor and removing a false ceiling they created a home with a dramatic double height space with additional rooms at the first-floor level. The lower level is almost church-like with its upper level balcony. As you look around the home, you can see the expertly combined materials which include birch plywood, concrete, wood wool and brass. All of these materials are low cost, honest and hard wearing. The furniture is brilliant in its simplicity. Although mid-century furniture is very popular, I believe we will start to see even more if it used in minimalist style interiors. Making my point you can see the Hans Wegner style chairs we see throughout this home fit perfectly because .[gallery type="rectangular" ids="22648,22646,22645,22644,22643,22642,22641,22640,22639,22638,22637,22635"]
Mission is hoping that you're willing to spend a boat load of money for a fully electric motorcycle. Their Mission RS Motorcycle ($56,000) is an impressive package. The RS has a 160 horsepower, 120 kW electric motor. The motor puts out 120 pound-feet of torque. All of this comes form a single speed transmission that will get you to 60 mph in under 3 seconds. Maximum range for the RS is about 200 miles, but real world measurements are closer to 140 miles. If $60,000 is a bit much to spend, Mission plans on releasing the R version of their bike which will start at $29,000. Only 40 of the RS bikes will be made.
