I absolutely love this speaker. The People People Transparent Speaker ($849) is "made to be heard and not seen", just for the streamer generation. After a successful Kickstarter campaign the Transparent Speaker is now for sale to the general public. The speaker features top of the line premium components including a 6.5-inch subwoofer that reaches down to 35Hz, and two 3-inch full range drivers that provide the mid-range and highs up to 20KHz.The built-in amplifier can put out 80-100 W and features a high quality digital signal processor which provides music as the artist intended.Additional features include bass, treble, and volume adjustments on the front panel, 2 AUX inputs on the front and back, a USB power output on the back, and a toast slot for an airport express. The guys at People have stated their goal was to create transparent acoustics "without compromising on the very intimate act of listening to the music you love." I think they've done that in spades.
As the introduction states "Green: A Field guide To Marijuana ($30) is a for a new generation of sophisticated pot smoker as well as the curious." But it is also for those who love hyper detailed photography of plant life. The photos are so beautiful, you'll actually think you can smell the flowers. Green starts with a 'Primer' section that explores the complex culture around marijuana and the botany that makes it such a unique flower. In the 'Buds' section you get descriptions of lineage, flavor, and mental or physical high for 170 strains. This will most likely be the go to reference manual for marijuana in the future for recreational and medicinal users alike.

Tesla has just announced they'll be releasing the New Tesla Model S Dual Motor P85D ($121). The new S models will feature a motor on each axle, that independently controls torque to the front and rear wheels. You end up with unparalleled traction control, while the instantaneous response of the motors gives you controlled performance in any condition. Tesla says the, "Dual Motor Model S has the most capable road holding and handling of any vehicle ever produced". It also has the best performance beating all gasoline cars in its class. And they backed this up by beating the Mclaren F1's 0 to 60 mph time when the P85D marked a 3.2 second 0 to 60 mph split. But that's not all, the new model also comes with all the hardware needed for autopilot functionality. The package includes, forward radar, 12 long range ultrasonic sensors, a forward looking, and a high precision, digitally controlled electric assist braking system. In the near future they foresee the Model S being able to steer to keep you in your lane, change lanes with a tap of the turn signal, braking and steering to avoid collisions, and manage speed by reading road signs. For autonomous control is still a long way off but the Model S should be upgradable when the firmware comes out.
