This beautiful piece of work started off as a stock Ducati 749. After some heavy modifications, it turned into the Ducati 749 by Apogee Motorworks ($CALL). Apogee started off by replacing the engine with a 749R that has a higher redline than the stock version. Additional upgrades included racing cams, titanium valves, valve guides and connecting rods. They then re-engineered the subframe and fuel tank so the seat could be adjusted to fit the rider. If you want one of these bad boys for yourself and have a Trellis-framed Ducati sitting around, give the guys over at Apogee a call and they'll build one for you.
Once in awhile a product, although not for sale, is simply too beautiful not to write about. The O-bow ($TBA) is an electronic musical instrument. Using a standard bow or even a wooden stick, changes in the midi are produced via an optical sensor which measures the bow speed and horizontal angle with high resolution. To play you will need a midi keyboard to produce the string sound and the O-bow would add the bow flavor. There is no word yet on whether this device will ever hit the market, but I'm hoping we will see a Kickstarter for it soon. Check out this [video_lightbox_youtube video_id= 4L4cr80vT5Q width=640 height=480 anchor=video] of the O-bow in action.

Written and illustrated by Jeremy Haun and co-written by Jason A. Hurley, The Beauty is a clever and thrilling story that will keep you gripped right from the start. Available in digital and printed forms.
