Stockpile Designs is a New York based furniture company from designer Jake Wright that specializes in creating pieces which are based on "obsolete equipment and military-derived construction". Their latest is the Friendly Fire Lamp by Stockpile Designs ($800). The lamp is a perforated artillery round that is brightly polished on the outside while leaving the wear and tear displayed on the inside. A 12" incandescent bulb hangs from the lathe-turned wooden tip and casts light through the mesh. This light will make a great addition to any room in your house.
Recently unveiled the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro ($TBA) is the most sophisticated, tech savvy and beastly Camaro the muscle car manufacturer has released to date. Still featuring the same light, streamlined architecture as its predecessors the 2016 Camaro takes it one step further for their fastest, most nimble release yet. A choice of three engines await you from the 2.0L turbo up to the cheek splitting 455 bhp 6.2L V8, their most powerful yet. Of course though this is Chevrolet so power isn't everything and that's why you have the usual modern extras, cutting edge technology and a luxurious interior. A test drive wouldn't hurt now would it?
The worlds first wearable wireless storage solution has arrived! The ReVault Storage Drive ($320) acts as a secure personal device that allows you to sync your data across each of your wireless devices. Wear it on your wrist or around your neck, whichever you prefer and have instant access to all your files instantly! Made in both 32GB and 128GB models think of it as your own personal cloud. For music lovers out there you can also stream directly from it, leaving space on your tablet or smartphone for something far more important.
OK, on the outside it looks like your run of the mill soccer mom minivan, but on the inside it's all luxury. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz V-Class ($TBA) is Mercedes' next generation of passenger van. The V-class can hold up to eight passengers and it gives all of them plenty of room. Seating options include four captains chairs, or benches that hold two or three passengers. The second row of captains chairs can face the rear row just in case you want to break out the cards. The power plant is a 2.1-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel in three options. Sales will start in Europe in March, Mercedes is still deciding whether or not to bring it to the United States.
If you're looking for a robotic companion. You may have just missed the boat. Pepper: The Emotional Robot ($1700+) sold out in just minutes. Over 1,000 models were made available to consumers in Japan. Along with the $1700 price tag there is also a $200 monthly data and insurance fee. Pepper is just about four feet tall and weighs just over 60 pounds. It was created to read emotions, recognize tones of voice, and facial expressions so that it could more naturally interact with humans. The internal tech sounds like a high end smart phone - including cameras, touch sensors, and accelerometers. It also speaks multiple languages out of the box. If all this sounds interesting, you'll be able to get your own through Sprint Corp. stores in the U.S. starting next summer.
