There are plenty of cars out there for $17K or under, but you’d be hard pressed to find one cooler than the Local Motors 3D-Printed Strati ($17K).
There are only 50 parts in this entire two-seater and all parts that can be 3D-printed are.
You’re not going to hit the Autobahn anytime soon with this bad boy, but it will get you up to 50 mph with an electric engine that has a range of about 62-miles.
From start to finish, Local Motors says it takes about two days to print the car, but they’re looking at ways to reduce that time and the associated cost. Now if I had $17K and had a choice between the Apple Watch and the Strati, I know which one I’d be choosing.
