This post-apocalyptic thriller was a landmark movie of its time and over three decades later is still hugely watchable. Mel Gibson is Mad Max ($7), an Aussie lawman out to avenge the murders of his wife, child and partner in the barren wasteland that once was Australia. A gang of motorcyclists are responsible for the murders, which they carried out in retaliation at the death of their leader. Directed by George Miller and also starring Joanne Samuel and Hugh Keays-Byrne, this epic tales dishes up more action, thrills and adventure than one movie should be capable of, but it delivers on every level.
