The major problem with 3D printers is the creation of the 3D model. The software used to do this can be complicated for beginners. The Makerbot Digitizer ($1400) makes creating 3D models simple enough even for those new to 3D printer. With a couple of clicks the Makerbot will create a 3D model that is ready to print. No 3D design skills are needed and you can use the design files with the 3D printer of your choice. If you're looking for a great gag gift, then you have to pick up Book Of Things Better Than Boobs ($5). Think about for a second, what could be better than boobs? Not much. So that's why this book is filled with 142 blank pages. Nothing nada, zilch. And if you can find 142 things better than boobs, go ahead and fill in the pages, but I doubt you'll get a whole lot of people agreeing with you.
Indian Motorcycles have just released their new Indian Scout ($11,000) and this cruiser looks like a real beauty. The 69 cubic inch V-twin is the companies first ever liquid-cooled engine. It produces 100 horses, and 72 ft-lbs or torque at 5900rpm. Additional features include a lightweight chassis for enhanced maneuverability, premium suspension, a beautiful seat made from a premium desert tan leather and specifically designed to withstand the elements. Of course there are plenty of options to make your bike stand out. Even with all of these updates you still have the classic Scout DNA which include visible components, and design lines that lead the eye down the length of a beautiful machine.
The Faraday Porteur Electric Bike ($3500) doesn't even look like it has a battery. Unlike most electric bikes that look like skinny electric scooters this guy looks like your standard everyday bike. But it has a couple little secrets, a 350 watt motor paired with a 195Wh battery which provide pedal assistance for up to 15-20 miles. With a flip of a switch you can turn the assist off to use as a standard bike. The Porteur also features a US-made steel frame, standard 26 inch, 35mm tires, and weighs 39 pounds. They're taking orders now with delivery expected late summer.
The Loop Animation App ($1) lets you do quick and dirty frame based animation from you iPad. You not only have the ability to do free hand drawings but you can download video frames that you can trace over for cool animated effects. The resulting animations are 320px x 180px gifs that can be shared on Tumblr or Loops own gallery. I haven't had this much fun for less that $1 in a long time. Check out the available tools after the break.(more…)

Designed by Marcio Kogan, the Redux House, located on the outskirts of Sao Paulo, features a dramatic exterior that includes two slabs of concrete that extend beyond the walls to create the sense of great volume. From within the house you get a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape and outdoor spaces, including the magnificent swimming pool. Long hallways and outside access from every room add the sense of grandeur in the relatively small home.
