WTPAS (pronounced double taps) is offering a contemporary take on the classic varsity jacket. Bring the ancient art of Sake into your home with the Sake Making Kit ($57). Sake originated in 8th century Japan and can be a complicated, exacting process. This kit gives you everything you need to easily make your own. It includes a 1 gallon glass carboy, cane siphon, yeast, campden tablets, acid blend, short-grain high polished rice, yeast energizer, and fermenting bucket. The only items not included in the kit are 1 pound of raisins, and 2.5 lbs or sugar.
The Micro 3D Printer ($299) surpassed its Kickstarter goal of $50,000 in 11 minutes and with 28 days to go is sitting at a cool million dollars pledged. So what makes this printer so compelling? Well the most obvious detail would have to be the price. With most 3D printers starting out around the $1,000 mark the Micro is incredibly affordable when compared to the field. It also features compatibility with either Mac, Windows, and Linux systems, can be fed ABS, PlA, or Nylon spools, has a 50-350 micron layer resolution, and a print base area of 109mm x 113mm. Check out their Kickstarter campaign for additional details and ordering information.
Don't get your hopes up, the car pictured above is nothing more than a graphic rendering. The Bugatti Gandloff Concept, designed by Pawel Czyzewski, gets its inspiration from the 1938 Type 57 SC Atalante Coupe. Here's hoping this machine hits the showroom floor someday.
I strongly hope The Concept Span Watch from Box Clever ($TBA) eventually hits the market in some iteration. It is an elegant take on the idea of what a smartwatch should be. This tasteful concept uses a screen that spans the center of the watch. It provides the most critical alerts and notification across its curved OLED display. The Span watch was meant to be an extension of your smartphone and not a replacement. The quartz movement operates the jump hour timekeeping, while a jog dial on the bezel operates the watches interface. Again, if this guy ever hit the market I would love to pick one up.
The Spania GTA Spano ($TBA) is fast. The newest version of Spania's supercar comes with an incredible 900 horses. The engine is a twin-turbocarged 8.4 liter V10 with 737 foot-pounds of torque. The SPANO can reach speeds of 60 mph in under 3 seconds and max's out at 217 mph. The entire exterior body and the monocoque is comprised of carbon fiber, resulting in a svelte 2,976 pounds. If you want to by one of these guys put a mill in the bank and use the change for a week out in vegas.
