Mark your calendar for Wednesday, September 10th. That’s the day the new Nike KD7 ‘Easy Money’ Sneakers ($150) are dropping. And since Nike just paid the man $300 mill, I’d say they were aptly named.
The Shoes are based on a number of items from Kevin’s life. When he was a kid he was fascinated with meteorology and wanted to become a weatherman, so five color ways will be released to pay homage to the weather. The ‘Easy Money’ release is dedicated to Ben Franklin, but it’s not his key on the kite experiment where the shoe derives its colorway, it’s the fact Ben’s on the hundred dollar bill. The colorway combines green hues and graphics from the bill to create a very cool presentation.
Additional features include a silhouette of his home state of Maryland on the outsole, and a forefoot strap the includes the names of his mother Wanda, his grandmother Barbara, His father Wayne, and his brother Tony. And just in time for school, the ‘Easy Money’ will also be offered in kids sizes. Stop by Nike’s site on the 10th to pick up a pair.
