Over 4 decades after its release, The Godfather ($9) tops many lists of those movies that everyone has to see at least once in their lifetime. The ultimate Mafia movie stars Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and James Caan and is directed by Francis Ford Coppola. It tells the story of Don Corleone, the aging patriarch of the mob who is transferring control of his empire to his son. Another movie that could never be removed, The Godfather is a classic in every sense of the word and has stood the test of time.
I love these shoes and I'm seriously considering picking up a pair when they drop. The Y-3 2014 Fall Hayex Low - Black, Red & Camo ($TBA) feature an all black upper with a minimalistic design and obvious Japanese flair. The upper sits on a classic Yohji Yamamoto midsole with its extended heel, and camo and red accents. Expect these to hit the brands shop in the coming weeks.
Recon is a tech company base out of Canada; that creates heads-up displays for extreme sports. The company has been around since 2008 and were just bought by Intel last year. Their latest offering is a collaboration with Empire Paintball and is the first heads-up display for paintball. The Recon Empire EVS ($TBA) uses the same display of the companies Airwave product but encloses IT in a full mask that can take the abuse of paintball combat. The display will show all the information you need for successful combat. Such as ammo counts, field maps and team locations. Specs are looking pretty good as well. The system runs on an Android OS, and the hardware includes a 1GHZ Intel dual-core processor, Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, GPS, and dual pane lenses to help with fogging. There's no word yet on when the Recon Empire EVS will start shipping, but you can check out the companies website for the latest updates.
Staying true to the luxurious SUV design synonymous with the brand, the new Range Rover Velar ($57,000) is the newest addition to an already prestigious range. Designed to bridge the gap between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport, the Velar injects timeless elegance and modern glamor into the lives of families all over the world. Boasting a light, stiff aluminum body alongside 'pioneering suspension technology' and a silhouette that could only be crafted by Range Rover, the clean lines of the Velar promise to appeal to the most avid perfectionist. Finished with flush fitting door handles and rear LED light clusters, take your crew into a new age and put your trust in a brand proven to excel.
If you're looking for a great chronograph, you need to check out the Steinhart Nav B-Chrono 47 MM ($962). The watch has a larger case coming in at 47mm x 16.6mm. The bezel is polished stainless steel, and comes with an AR-coated sapphire crystal front and display back. The movement is the excellent Swiss made ETA Valijoux 7750 Automatic that features 25 jewels. It's only water resistant to 3 ATMs so I would be careful around water, but it does come with a brown vintage buffalo leather strap.
I own a couple projectors and was thinking about setting one up outside for a weekend pool party. I eventually scrapped the idea after thinking about the hassle of hooking up the power, receiver, speakers, source, etc. If I had the JBL Nebula Mars Portable Cinema Projector ($600) I wouldn't have given it a second thought. Not only does the Nebula feature dual 10w JBL speakers, but it has an internal battery that provides 3 hours of play time. And forget about having to connect and DVD, it comes with Apple Airplay so just connect to your Wifi and you'll be able to see it on your Apple devices. The other specs aren't too shabby either. It features a DLP display with a 3000-lumen lamp that puts out an 800p picture. This is slightly less than 1080p, but at an appropriate viewing distance, you shouldn't notice much of a difference. This is a great projector if you're looking for a portable projector for camping, outdoor parties, then this is the one for you.
