I think I'm in love. The newly released Raspberry Pi 2 Model B ($35) is the latest update to the already legendary microcomputer board. The latest Raspberry Pi 2 comes with an updated 900MHz ARM Cortex-A7 quad-core processor and twice the ram, going from 512mb to a full 1GB. The developers claim the new upgrades will provide up to six times the performance of the previous board. All of this for the same price. And Because raspberry is always thinking of its users the placement of all the connectors and the ports will stay the same, so you be able to continue using the same case and accessories if you just want to change the board.
The Tacchini Galleria Modular Seating System X PearsonLloyd ($CALL) is one of those pieces that fits commercial or residential environments. Created by London-based designers PersonLloyd and italian furniture manufacturer Tacchini, the Galleria was made specifically for public spaces, but would be a great look for those going a minimalist look. The system has a steel substructure for the base that takes on benches, blocks of upholstery, marble and steel elements to create customized furniture to fit any area. This is probably one of the more original products we've seen come out in a long time. The Smart Cloud ($3360) is the creation of The Richard Clarkson Design Studio, based out of New York and New Zealand. The studio was originally founded by Richard in 2013 as an experimental product, lighting and furniture studio. They offer consultancy, product and experience design. But they also produce their own projects, one of which being the Cloud.The Smart Cloud ($3360) is an interactive lamp and speaker system that mimics a thundercloud. By using motion sensors it can detect your presence and creates a unique lightning and thunder show based on your movement. The powerful speaker system can stream music via bluetooth and the color-changing lights adapt to your specifications. The Cloud also has additional modes so it can be used as a nightlight and music reactive mode.
