This product probably has limited mass appeal, but it was just too cool to pass up. The Qumarion ($750) is a poseable action figure that allows comic book artists and animators to create on-screen CG character poses in real-time. The Qumarion is equipped with 32 sensors spread over 16 joints to capture movements and feed them back to your system. This will allow animators to create key frames far more easily than is possible today. Qumarion is only being offered in Japan at the moment, but here’s hoping they open it up to other countries in the future.
