This year there were a lot of mediocre ads, but there were also a few stand-outs. These include Radio Shack’s “The ’80s called”, “Full House” for Chobani, “Doberhuahua”, “Sean”, “Dads Sixth Sense”, “The Truth” with Morpheus and the Seinfeld reunion in “Crackle: Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”.

2014 SUPER BOWL COMMERCIALS
|Beats Music: Ellen|
We are told at the outset that “Once there was a girl who was hungry for the perfect music to dance to…” . The name of that girl just happens to be Ellen DeGeneres and this makes “The Right Music” a whole lot of fun. Ellen, dressed as Goldilocks, gives the new Beats Music service a go and gets down to some serious grooving with the 3 bears. The music is great, it is visually hysterical, and is up there amongst the best.
Another simple yet effective ad from an automaker which aims to show that it ain’t just mom who worries about the kids. The safety of their new Genesis is the linchpin to this ad called “Dads Sixth Sense”. We see a variety of dads who swoop in in the nick of time to save their sons from harm. Pop doesn’t have to worry so much now though as the luxurious Genesis has auto emergency braking, go Genesis!
We see a guy on a sofa looking at his life. The voice over tells us there is nothing worse than seeing the girl you like dancing with another guy. That guy is Sean, and he has some pretty nifty moves. Quite what this has to do with TurboTax, the financial services company is anyone’s guess but hey, who cares, Sean is cool!
|Need for Speed|
Aaron Paul, best known as Jessie from Breaking Bad, finally gets to headline his own movie and this is a trailer to remember. Based on the videogame of the same name, Need For Speed crams so much horsepower into one small time segment people behind the Fast and Furious franchise must be quaking in their boots. Out on March 14, watch out for this one.
After last years absence, Chevrolet is desperate to make their mark in 2014 and they have just cracked it with Romance. This ad is about the new stud in town, and it ain’t the hunk driving the 2015 Silverado. Its the four legged horny beast in the trailer that is delivered to the farm and steps out to a bevy of beautiful cows. Great fun and its good to have Chevy back.
