The guys behind the Matrix Trilogy are back with a new Sci-Fi thriller and it looks like they might be be able to redeem themselves from the flop that was Revolutions. Jupiter Ascending ($TBA), directed by Andy and Lana Wachowski and starring Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum takes place in the future and is the story of a woman on earth who gets targeted by the Queen of the Universe because her genetic signature marks her as the next in line for the throne. Tatum plays a genetically engineered ex-military hunter who comes to earth to protect her. The wire work reminiscent of the first Matrix looks amazingly well done and I hope the plot and character development are just as good.http://youtu.be/YUm9akB_LUw
Accidents happen, we all know this, and it is often the after affects that make you suffer the most. Imagine being in a train wreck and you walk away without a scratch while surrounded by blood and carnage. This is the story behind Unbreakable ($10) and we follow this man, played by Bruce Willis, as his life is changed forever by the accident and the discoveries he makes about himself on the way. Written and directed by M Night Shyamalan and co-starring Samuel L Jackson and Robin Wright, this suspenseful thriller ticks all the boxes for a great night in watching a movie. Have you ever driven to a new spot and really dependent on your nav. You've got a group of exits coming up and the nav screen looks like a plate of spaghetti. So you keep looking up and down between the highway and the screen to make sure you get off at the right spot. Not real safe. To fix this Garmin is coming out with their Garmin Head-up display ($130) to keep your eyes on the road. The Hud system pairs with your smartphone and communicates with either their Navigon or Streetpilot app. The system will display turn arrows, distance to next turn, current speed, graphic lane guidance and much more. The Garm HUD will be available this Summer.
Last year TOPs ran an employee contest to see who could design the best hatchet, tomahawk or ax. The winner was Lorenzo Espinoza and his creation was the TOPS Grandpa's Ax ($160). The Grandpa's Ax is the perfect combination of size, weight, and chopping capability. It's a small hatchet, weighing under 1.5 pounds, allowing it to be carried over long distances. If you're a backpacker or a camper headed out for the weekend, this would be a perfect addition to your pack.
