Sony just revealed its new virtual reality headset, Sony Project Morpheus ($TBA), at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The current iteration of the headset features 1080p resolution and a field of view of 90 degrees. Additional features include an accelerometer, gyroscope sensors, and tracking for head orientation and movement. The other cool thing is 3D audio that re-creates stereoscopic sounds. This basically means that as your head orientation changes so does the location of the audio. The morpheus will work with the DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller and looks to hit stores some time this summer.
The PlayStation 4 ($399) is now available for pre-order. The new console will have 8GB GDDR4 RAM which is optimized for graphical throughput.
