The 2015 BMW i8 ($136,000) was recently put on display at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The plug-in hybrid is BMW's latest release in the high-performance category. The i8 is built from carbon-fiber reinforced plastic and has an aluminum platform. It has two engines, the gas motor is 3 cylinders and puts out 236 foot pounds of torque. The electric motor is 131 horses (96 kilowatts) and puts out 184 foot pounds of torque. Maximum output is an impressive 362 hp and 420 lb-ft.
