The long wait is almost over. Back in 2013, the original Kickstarter campaign raised $2.5 million and ever since we've been waiting for the consumer version. Well, now the Oculus Rift Is Available For Preorder ($599). It was initially expected to start shipping in March, but due to the high demand, it looks like June is a better bet at the moment. Initially, the headset will ship to 20 countries, and there will also be a small set of retailers who will have demo units starting in April.Before preordering you'll want to make sure you PC is "Oculus Ready". You'll need at least an NVIDIA GTX 970 or equivalent video card, an Intel i5-4590 or better processor, 8gm of RAM, an HDMI 1.3 video output, 3x USB 3.0 ports plus 1x USB 2.0 PORT, and OS Windows 7 SP1 64 bit or newer. If you don't have the right gear, they're offering PC's for sale from other companies and in February, they'll be offering a Rift/PC bundle starting at $1499.Not everything is so rosie. The touch controller that enables users to interact with objects in VR won't be shipping with the headset. They don't expect it to be ready until the second half of this year. Instead, the rift will ship with a Xbox controller and two games.

The Doxie Flip Scanner ($149) is a mobile wireless scanner that's perfect for capturing photos, memories, creative, ideas, and images from pocket notebooks. You can scan by placing your image on the glass or by removing the cover and placing the scanner on whatever you want to scan. The Doxie Flip works with originals up to 4x6" and can create images up to 600dpi. Scans are written to a SD card.
Owen & Fred make some pretty cool stuff for men. And their newly released manly soap is no different. The Owen & Fred You Dirty Dog Soap ($9) is described as, "scented like an old cigarbox, with a hit of Peru Balsam and black pepper". Pretty cool. The soap is actually made from a mix of Cedar wood, which is meant to calm the nerves and relieve tension. The Peu Balsam, found in wound care products, is used to revitalize your skin. And the activated charcoal is used to detox your skin by drawing out dirt and oil. All of this plus some distilled water, oils, and Rottweiler Musk, make up a great way to start your mornings.
Volkswagen's GTI has been a staple of those willing to tune their own cars for years. The ability to change the exhaust and update computer chips to provide additional horses is an industry all its own. But that may be a thing if the past if VW's Design Vision GTI Concept ($TBA) is ever released. The car has 503 horses and a top speed of over 185 mph. This is all produced with a 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 which gets you those 503 horses at 6500 rpms and 413 foot pounds of torque. Who are we kidding, if it's every released someone'll try and get 600 horses out of it.
