Once upon a time a caveman picked up a rock and proceeded to chuck it at someone or something. A History of Weapons ($14) began at that moment. John O'Bryan is a respected comedy writer and self described weapons nerd who relays to us through A History Of Weapons the often freaky highlights of the obsession man has had with weaponry for centuries. In this laugh out loud book he explains the weapons, the history of them, their main uses and also their bad ass potential. Those who used these weapons are also here from Genghis Khan to Attila the Hun to those peaceful souls the Shaolin monks.
It's almost sacrilegious to mess with a Harley, but the guys over at DP Customs are pros and the results are awesome. Based out of Arizona and run by Jarrod and Justin Del Prado, DP customs takes stock bikes and turns them into street machines that look like they'd be comfortable on any track. The 2003 Harley Sportster by DP Customs ($TBA) started out as a standard 2003 1200cc Harley Sportster. DP slapped a custom exhaust on it, new breaks, an awesome paint job, and much more. Check out the rest of the pictures after the break.(more…)
I believe that quality is important and when you make purchases price can't always be the determining factor. Patagonia calls its Encapsil Down Belay Parka ($700), the finest down parka ever made. The Belay Parka was made to provide you with comfort in the most extreme conditions. It is a 100% baffled, differentially cut parka made with plasma-treated, water repellent down that has a fill-power rating of 1000. Exterior hand warmers provide warmth even with the pocket zippers open. And if weight is a concern, it no longer needs to be, this Parka weighs in at just 18 oz.

Minimal paint, nickel plating and upholstery from Rod's Designs finish off this beautiful customization. Check out more pictures after the break.(more…)
An updated Google Nexus 7 ($229) will be released on July 30th and based on the specs it looks like the decision on what tablet to get just got a little bit harder. The updated Nexus 7 comes with a 7" screen, a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels, 2GB or RAM, Android 4.3, and storage options of 16 and 32GB. Outside of giving an inch away in screen size to the iPad Mini, the Nexus bests the Mini in almost every other category. Its two major advantages are screen resolution and $100 savings on base models. Expect the Nexus to give the Mini and the Galaxy Tab 3 a run for their money.
