Imagine you are a cadet in a military school and discover that a condo developer wants to demolish it and build on top of it, this is the dilemma facing the proud cadets in Taps ($9). Based on the book by Devery Freeman, directed by Harold Becker and starring George C Scott, Timothy Hutton, Tom Cruise and Ronny Cox, this is a great guy movie as we see the dedication and fierce pride of the cadets as they fight for the life of their academy. Heartwarming and thought provoking, anyone with a cinch of national pride will love Taps. Plus you get to see Tom Cruise loose it in a great machine gun scene.
Jeep just unveiled it latest edition to the Jeep SRT family. The Jeep SRT Night Edition ($70K) is a special-edition model that features a colorway themed after the setting sun. Wrapped in a Velvet Red, the Night Edition is beautiful. They are also offering Billet Silver and Granite Crystal colroways. The only exterior, black components are the roof, rear spoiler, grille surrounds, the 20-inch wheels, and the badging. The interior is just as intense with all black leather with silver stitching and dark chrome trim. The Night Edition comes standard with a 6.4-liter V-8 pushing 475 horses. This setup gives a split of 0-60 mph in under 4.6 seconds. The car is stunning but for $70K I might be looking at something else.

There are some movies that stick in your head from the first time you viewed them, and you find yourself recalling scenes from them years later. The Matrix ($7) is one of these movies, and from the moment an everyday computer hacker learns about the computer generated reality and the part he is destined to play in its survival we are set for a roller coaster ride that includes some crazy martial arts we had never seen the likes of before. Written and directed by Andy Wachowski and starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne and Carrie-Anne Moss, The Matrix is a modern classic and one of my all time favorites.
