Finally, great sounding Bluetooth speakers for a great price! The Croon Audio Original ($199) is a wireless Bluetooth speaker with audiophile sound. The builders of this speaker put a lot of energy into making sure every detail led to a beautiful sounding speaker. The Croon comes in a high density case and uses isolation spikes in a tripod configuration to dampen vibrations that could have a negative impact on sound. The unit puts out 15 watts and allows you to connect to your devices up to 10 feet away. The Jaguar XFR-S really didn't need any kind of improvement, it's a pretty cool machine all on its own. But they've taken the design to the next level with the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake ($138,000). The updated Sportbrake features include a 550 horsepower 5.0-litter engine that can pull 502 lb-ft of torque, and an eight-speed automatic transmission with Jaguar's Quckshift tech. Then entire thing runs on 20-inch Pirelli's and can go from 0-60 mph in under 4.6 seconds. The great thing about the Sportbrake upgrade is the 60 cubic feet of storage (with rear seats folded). The Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake is expected to go on sale some time in April.
It's not that big of a deal, but I have an older iMac and if I've previously removed a cable, and I have to plug in my iPhone or tablet to charge, I have to turn the thing around to reach the slots in the back. The Imacompanion Front USB ($25) takes the obvious and makes it a reality. It gives easy access to a front USB port while keeping the minimalist esthetic of the iMac intact. They've got a Kickstarter campaign going on right now so check them out.
Jessica Banks and Mihae Mukaida are the founders of RockPaperRobot. Jessica is a roboticist, and Mihae has a design background. Together they create beautiful analog and digital pieces. The Magnetic Wooden Float Table by RockPaperRobot ($10,000) is a great work of art and an example of great engineering at the same time. The table is a matrix of magnetized wooden cubes. Each cube is held in place by a system of steel cables while the magnets push against each other causing the cubes to float.(more…)
