Adsum has just come out with a beautiful bookshelf speaker; The Adsum Audio Detonator ($800). The Detonator has a 4' magnesium and aluminum driver that provides crystal mids, while the low distortion bass is delivered by two passive radiators. The tweeter is isolated in its own enclosure that sits on top of the main unit. Overall frequency response is 65 Hz - 40 kHz. Although the top end is fully covered, I would suggest adding a subwoofer with these. Available in 6 colors, Adsum is taking orders now.
The ANTVR Kit ($300) is a full HD display (1920 x 1080) headset that comes with its own transformable controller, which can be used as a gamepad, light saber, gun and joystick. The added bonus is it can be had for only $300. The headset provides you an IMAX-like experience with a 100-degree diagonal field of view and both 2D and 3D viewing. The internal 9-axis IMU provides a real-life gaming experience with head rotation and movement tracking. Their Kickstarter is going on right now so check it out.
If you saw the first Kick-Ass then just like me you're waiting with bated breath for the release of Kick-Ass 2 ($TBA). Scheduled to hit theaters on August 16th the new movie picks up where the last one left off. After hearing about Kick-Ass' heroism a new group of superheroes, led by Jim Carrey's character Colonel Stars and Stripes, hit the streets. While Red Mist (now The Mother F#@#@r) puts together his own gang of bad guys to get payback for what Kick-Ass did to him in the last flick. The beautiful Chloe Grace Moretz as Hit-Girl and the newly yoked Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kick-Ass make this flick a sure hit. The Draught Shop has come out with a great weekend tote. The Draught Dry Goods Ripstop Camo Tote ($195) is a light weight durable tote in ripstop camouflage and a hunter orange interior. It has four large exterior pockets, with a snapping top enclosure. The bag rolls up to something that is easily packed away when not in use.
Using the beauty of nature in its design, the Forest House ($NFS) responds to the clients need for a family retreat. The house consists of three sleeping quarters and a living/dining area within a cluster of tent cabins. With tented roofs and walls, the house features mirrored-bronze glass windows, wood framed walls and an Anthracite black finish. The open plan design brings the beauty of the surrounding Californian forest inside with sections of the house suspended between treetops and the canopy floor. A house to take your breath away and one that steers towards modern silhouettes with an organic feel.
