Motoped just announced a Motoped Survival Bike ($2,000+) just in time for the next zombie attack. If you don't know, motopeds are a cross between a mountain bike and a moped. The engine is a 4-stroke Honda 50cc XR/CRF50. The stock engine is street legal in most states and has a top speed about 30 miles per hour. The cool thing is that because the engine is not above 50cc's with a max of 30mph, it can be ridden on most streets as a motorized bicycle without the need for motorcycle registration & insurance. This allows you to ride and park anywhere a bike can. Now take that base motoped and add a cool paint job, a one-gallon gas container, flashlight, climbing rope, tomahawk, crossbow, a bunch of other cool survival gear and you've got the ultimate survival machine. Stay locked on Motoped's website for updates and release dates.
Finally a replacement for my Apple TV! The Ouya Video Game Console ($99.00) is a former Kickstarter project. Ouya is a new open source video gaming console, that comes with the main console and a single game pad. The game pad comes with analog sticks, triggers, buttons, a D-pad and a touch pad. The touch pad will make transitioning from mobile to console gaming more palatable. You can buy extra game pads for $30.00. The reason I'm all excited is that I'm tired of having to jailbreak my Apple TV and now I can get a gaming console and install XBMC so that I can get access to my video and music library. Check out this [video_lightbox_youtube video_id=C_DQgYDY25I width=640 height=480 anchor=video] to see some games that could be coming to the console.
