Stephen Kenn, originally from Canada, moved to Los Angeles and the rest is history. His focus on designing denim, bags, accessories and furniture has culminated in the Stephen Kenn City Gym Sofa ($5000). The sofa's frame is made from welded steel with a marbled brown finish. Custom webbing belts, and leather straps secure the cushions which are made from re-purposed WWII military fabric.
The Shinola X Filson Bixby Bicycle ($2,900) is Filson's take on Shinola's iconic Bixby. It starts with a TrueTemper frame with bamboo fenders, and Shinola leather grips. Shimano parts include brakes, rotors, brake levers, and shifters. Filson then adds custom panniers and a basket bag made from Bridle Leather and their signature Oil Finish Tin Cloth. The Bike is available in either 55 or 57 inch frames.
The Diemme Firenze Combat Boots ($240) are a stylish suede boot that will soon be your favorites. The Firenze's are an Italian boot made with velvety brick red Diemme suede. The soles are sturdy Vibram and the contrasting suede laces and pull tab finish off a great boot.
I never thought of buying a KIA before I saw this car. The Kia GT4 Stinger Concept ($TBA) made an appearance at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show and is making a lot of noise. The GT4 Stinger is a rear wheel drive sports coupe that features a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo that makes 315 horses and is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. It only weights about 2,874 pounds so that engine should really get this guy moving. The tires are 20-inch Pirelli PZero's and stopping power is provided by Brembo Gran Turismo four-piston caliper brakes. Kia says they have no plans on bringing this concept to production, but the rumblings are they're looking at producing something very similar to this concept in the future. Check video and pics of the GT4 Stinger in action after the break.(more…)
