Dave Curtiss is a US knife maker who makes knives for everyday carry that are built to last and worked hard. The Curtiss Knives Nano Liner Block Black & Red ($225) is his most compact offering. It features a 2 inch stainless steel blade with a tumbled finish and S.P.O.T. pivot system that makes for easy opening. The handle is made from black & dark red layered G10 scales (G10 is made from woven fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin) for a solid grip. A titanium pocket clip finishes off this awesome blade.

The Watershed was commissioned by a philosophy professor and well-known nature writer, as a retreat for herself and visiting writer friends. It was made to engage with the environment without disrupting it. Some features include small tunnels that run under the studio to allow for local reptiles and amphibians and a water collection basin that doubles as the front step the draws birds and deer.The structure features a steel frame and cedar planks. The steel frame and wood enclosure allow for updating or recycling piece-by-piece as necessary.
British Designer Paul Cocksedge has just introduced the Double O Bike Light ($73). The Double O is an interesting take on the standard bike light. It not only features a bright 85 lumen front light that illuminates the road in front of you, but a red low level 50 lumen light that makes sure you'r visible to drivers and other riders on the road. Additional features include a rubber strap so that you can attach it to almost anything, up to 50 hours of run time on 3 AAA batteries, and an internal magnet.
