We've gotten use to reviewing Kahn customizations, but this is something we didn't expect. Kahn has taken the already beautiful Landrover Sport to an entirely new level. The Project Kahn Land Rover Sport 5.0 V8 Supercharged SVR Pace Car ($162,000) was upgraded with an aggressive splitter, and wider front and rear arches with an integrated air dam. These arches need to be bigger to fit 23" RS alloy wheels which give this beautiful ride an aggressive stance. The exterior has a complete paint job to Volcanic Rock Satin to match its intimidating stanceThe interior was updated by Kahn's in-house craftsmen who upholstered the SVR's sport seats with quilted and perforated leather for unrivaled comfort. Additional details include vented aluminum pedals and stainless steel door entry sill plates. If you have the funds, this ride is definitely worth a look.
"He's a smart little mother******, I'll give him that." - KEITH RICHARDS on MICK JAGGERMick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger ($20) tries to show us the real Mick Jagger. Is he A Street Fighting Man? A Jumping Jack Flash? Or a Man of Wealth and Taste? It turns out he is all of these, and much much more. Mick Jagger can only be described as a force of nature, one of a kind, and one of the most dominant cultural figures of not only our time, but arguably all time. Strutting, swaggering, often elusive yet always spellbinding, he grabbed the world by the throat more than half a century ago and, unlike many of his most gifted peers, hasn't let go since.
You know what's better than a whisker bar? A portable whiskey bar, of course. It's not the stuff of legend and dreams as this stylish piece from Louis Vuitton shows. The Louis Vuitton Portable Whiskey Bar ($39K) was built in the 1980's and is a sophisticated and elegant kit that will make you feel right at home wherever you might be. Lined with Epi leather and featuring gold plated studs this retro case is all original with original locks and latches, and it's very own key. But let's get to the good stuff. The interior is lined with a deep green and wondrously grained leather and fitted with everything a whiskey drinker could need. Including a silver mounted whiskey carafe, four high-quality whiskey beakers, and even a thermos-lined ice bucket.
This post-apocalyptic thriller was a landmark movie of its time and over three decades later is still hugely watchable. Mel Gibson is Mad Max ($7), an Aussie lawman out to avenge the murders of his wife, child and partner in the barren wasteland that once was Australia. A gang of motorcyclists are responsible for the murders, which they carried out in retaliation at the death of their leader. Directed by George Miller and also starring Joanne Samuel and Hugh Keays-Byrne, this epic tales dishes up more action, thrills and adventure than one movie should be capable of, but it delivers on every level.
Defender Icon is the bespoke arm of UK based Nene Overland. They create beautifully customized works of Defender art. They have a new truck in the process of being built that looks like it could be a real winner. Their Land Rover Defender Icon 5.0 V8 Auto Dual Cab ($TBA) is based on the Land Rover Defender 110. The 110 was first produced in 1983 and gets its name from an 110-inch wheelbase. This Icon build will feature an Art Ford Racing 5.0 v8, a variable multi valve engine, with an automatic gearbox. You can even get it with an optional paddle shifter. Additional options for this double cab pickup include a Falcon soft top conversion and left-hand drive.(photo credit - Defender Icon)
Land Rover just brought back the Discovery with the release of the 2015 Land Rover discovery Sport ($38K). Make no doubt about it though, this is a tweaked LR2 with some updates. With a starting price point below $40K, the deal on this compact SUV may be too sweet to pass up. The Sport features a 4-cylinder 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that pushes 240 horses with 250 lb-ft of torque and 1750 rpm. The power plant is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The interior features stadium style seating with a sliding and reclining second-row. Only time will tell if this new entry into the CUV market will be able to hold its own the crowded market.
