ARIEL NOMAD

We recently did an article on the Sidewinder Concept By Gray Design. You won’t be able to buy that concept for the near future, if ever, but you’ll be able to get your hands on an Ariel Nomad ($46k) a whole lot sooner. The new ultra-light off road buggy is made by the same guys who brought you the Ariel Atom. The Nomad features a welded roll-cage, a higher ride height, independent suspension, a manual six-speed trans and a long travel suspension. Because this guy is meant to handle less than ideal terrain you also get some thick, knobby off-road tires. Now here’s the one downfall, it’s only rear-wheel drive. Which quit frankly makes no sense to me. The Nomad is expected to go on sale this month, with deliveries starting in the summer.
