We just did an article on Ton-Up’s BMW R75/5 build, but we think they’ve upped the game once again with their latest build, the BMW R45 “Pure” by Ton-Up Garage ($TBA). Basically this bike is a do-over. It evolved from a previous custom attempt that they felt missed the mark. They were shooting for simplicity and purity. An easy to ride and handle bike, that allowed any type of rider to ride it.
The engine is a completely rebuilt 474cc 35hp engine, that’s well balanced and can be used as either a city commuter or with its off-road tires, able to take on the oldest roads you may encounter. In order to manage these conditions they fitted new rear shocks, and tuned the front forks. Built a headlight grill, rear subframe, and cut and fitted new chrome mudguards on both wheels. The spoked wheels and the old school off-road tires balance each other perfectly.
Additional updates include handmade new exhausts, tubes with titanium exhaust wrap, small black indicators, LSL black handlebar, brown grips, and rear shocks were also replaced.
To finish off this R45, they painted the bike in white for purity and brown to represent the earth. A perfect ending to a great ride.
