I’m quickly becoming a fan of custom builder Ringbrothers. Their latest build is the Defiant X Ringbrothers A 1972 AMC Javelin Build ($NFS). 12 months after beginning the project, Ringbrothers unveiled their latest creation, at the Las Vegas SEMA show. Prestone approached the brothers about the idea for a build and they had just the car in mind. A 1972 Javelin that’s been rolling around their town for over four decades. And they went to work.
They started off by moving the wheels forward six and a half inches. The Javelin’s distinctive arches were moved forward and recreated in carbon fiber to pair with a new hood, front fenders, grill and front valance. Other custom details include tail lights, bumpers, trim and engine bay accessories all machine out of solid blocks of aluminum at the Ringbrothers facility.
They didn’t stop at the body. The power plant is just as badass. The ‘Defiant’ features a Wegner Motorsports 6.2-liter Hemi Mopar Hellcat engine fitted with a Whipple 4.5-liter Supercharger that produces an insane 1,036 horses. The engine is paired with a Bowler automatic tranny and a QA1 Carbon Fiber driveshaft.
The whole kit rides on HRE Performance Wheels. 20×11’s on the fronts, and 20×13’s on the rears all wrapped in Michelin tires sized at 285/30/20 up front and 335/30/20 out back. But you just don’t stop 1,000+ horses with stock breaks. ‘Defiant’ has a set of six-piston caliber Baer brakes for the hard work.

Detroit Electric has come out with its first electric sports car the Detroit Electric SP:01 ($135,000). The SP:01 is a rear-wheel drive fully electric sports car with a 200 bhp U.S. made […]
