FLOAT WATERSHED WRITING STUDIO

A building doesn’t have to be large to perfectly meet its requirements. The FLOAT Watershed Writing Studio ($TBD) is just 100sf but does its job perfectly. The Watershed was commissioned by a philosophy professor and well-known nature writer, as a retreat for herself and visiting writer friends. It was made to engage with the environment without disrupting it. Some features include small tunnels that run under the studio to allow for local reptiles and amphibians and a water collection basin that doubles as the front step the draws birds and deer.
The structure features a steel frame and cedar planks. The steel frame and wood enclosure allow for updating or recycling piece-by-piece as necessary.
