If you own an island then of course you need a 800 sq. ft sauna to go with it. The Grotto Sauna by Partisans Studio ($NFS) was created for a customer who wanted a sculpted, sensual, sophisticated space. The site on which the sauna was built is a prehistoric large-scale rock formation. The exterior although austere, works beautifully with its surroundings, while the interior curves, embody the movements of a natural grotto carved out by moving waters over a period of centuries.
To build this structure a who new process of construction had to be developed, this included Partisans working directly with millwork and steel fabricators, and using 3-D technology to scan, model and build the Grotto.
