Ok, they’ve finally gone a done it, someone has actually created a working hoverboard! Hendo – The World’s First Real Hoverboard ($10,000) ain’t cheap, that’s for sure, but it works and may be coming to a skate park near you in the not so distant future. The board itself works by utilizing four disc-shaped hover engines that create a magnetic field which allows the board to actually push on itself to generate the lift needed. Right now the board only works on surfaces made from a non-ferromagnetic conductor. The good news is they’re also planning on developing a hoverboard park to take full advantage of their new technologies.
Check out their new Kickstarter campaign, which offers some great less expensive rewards in case you want to support the campaign, but don’t want to foot the $10K for the board.
