Man, to be honest, I usually don’t go for Hyundai’s. I’m not sure whether its my perception of their quality standards or if it’s that I feel they’ve ripped off their styling from almost every other manufacturer. But the new Hyundai Santa Cruz Concept ($TBA) has got me thinking. This thing looks pretty sweet. The concept features a 2-liter turbo diesel engine that delivers a huge 300 lb.-ft of torque, and 190 horses. Of course you’re going to get a better fuel economy with diesel and the Santa Cruz is no different coming in at 30 miles to the gallon. The inside fits up to five plus you get cargo space in an extendable bed that incorporates an integrated retractable tonneau cover. The fat tires finish off the whole ride.
This is one of the coolest designs we’ve seen in a while. The vehicle is was created through extensive research and surveys with mountain volunteer search and rescue teams. They then took all the information they gathered and created a vehicle which dealt with the team’s most crucial intervention issues.
