I own a couple projectors and was thinking about setting one up outside for a weekend pool party. I eventually scrapped the idea after thinking about the hassle of hooking up the power, receiver, speakers, source, etc. If I had the JBL Nebula Mars Portable Cinema Projector ($600) I wouldn’t have given it a second thought. Not only does the Nebula feature dual 10w JBL speakers, but it has an internal battery that provides 3 hours of play time. And forget about having to connect and DVD, it comes with Apple Airplay so just connect to your Wifi and you’ll be able to see it on your Apple devices. The other specs aren’t too shabby either. It features a DLP display with a 3000-lumen lamp that puts out an 800p picture. This is slightly less than 1080p, but at an appropriate viewing distance, you shouldn’t notice much of a difference. This is a great projector if you’re looking for a portable projector for camping, outdoor parties, then this is the one for you.
