The Koenigsegg Regera ($1.9M) may be the newest and biggest badass on the planet. Making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show it features an 1100 horespower 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 paired with three electric motors that provide another 700 horses.
With normal hybrid vehicles you loose some power and acceleration with conversion losses. To get past this Koenigsegg got rid of the normal trans and put together a Direct Drive System that uses the electric engines for the gears.
What all that means, is that this 1500 hp f#%&er will get you to 248 miles per hour in less that 20 seconds. To 0-60 in under 2.8 seconds. This is the fastest accelerating production car on the planet.
If you want one, good luck, only 80 will be made and they won’t come cheap. My only question, is how fast can we make these things? I mean at some point will we ever see a street legal car hitting 0-60 in under 2 seconds? Only time will tell.
