Every so often a movie comes along without a great deal of hype that captures the imagination of the nation and makes everyone sit up and take notice. One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest ($4) is one such movie that almost 40 years later still makes an impact with its mixture of comedy, pathos and tragedy. Jack Nicholson in a pivotal early role is the guy committed to the asylum who rallies his fellow inmates into a mutiny against the dreaded nurse Ratchett. If ever a movie deserved to be called a classic it’s this one.
