If you took a Tesla and shrunk it down to the size of a skateboard, you’d end up with the One-Wheeled Hoverboard PEV ($3775). On a full charge, you can go about 12 miles at a top speed of 16mph. When you run out of just, it takes about 24 minutes or 1.5 min/mile. The whole unit weighs about 25lbs, so you’ll want to make sure it’s juiced up before you go out. Driving the Hoverboard is real simple. You tilt forward to accelerate, and back to brake.
At the center of the Hoverboard is its motor. The cool thing about is that it’s removable which means you can interchange it without any tuning or calibration requirements. This means the Hoverboard is future proof, and when advances are made in the drive unit, you’ll be able to easily take advantage.
Additional features include customizable LED lighting, Bluetooth compatibility and speakers that provide music and alerts, as well as LCD readouts.
