I absolutely love this speaker. The People People Transparent Speaker ($849) is “made to be heard and not seen”, just for the streamer generation. After a successful Kickstarter campaign the Transparent Speaker is now for sale to the general public.
The speaker features top of the line premium components including a 6.5-inch subwoofer that reaches down to 35Hz, and two 3-inch full range drivers that provide the mid-range and highs up to 20KHz.
The built-in amplifier can put out 80-100 W and features a high quality digital signal processor which provides music as the artist intended.
Additional features include bass, treble, and volume adjustments on the front panel, 2 AUX inputs on the front and back, a USB power output on the back, and a toast slot for an airport express.
The guys at People have stated their goal was to create transparent acoustics “without compromising on the very intimate act of listening to the music you love.” I think they’ve done that in spades.
