There are more movies about the Vietnam war than almost any other subject, so it takes something very special to stand out from the crowd. Step forward Platoon ($9), a blood and guts look at the horrors of war through the eyes of a young recruit. Starring Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger and Willem Defoe and directed by Oliver Stone, anyone who thinks that war is nothing to get excited about needs to watch this movie as it’s the nearest thing to being out in the field yourself.
